Aula 2 - The Past Continuous - Negative Form

Hi folks!

Hoje veremos a forma negativa do Past Continuous... Acredito que vocês já devem saber como funciona, pois é quase a mesma coisa do Present Continuous. Observe:

I was not playing soccer.
Sujeito + verbo To Be no passado + not + verbo com terminação -ing + complemento
Pode ser contraído para "Wasn't" e "Weren't".


A única diferença entre o Past Continuous e o Present Continuous, é o Verbo To Be:

I am not doing that (Present Continuous).
I was not doing that (Past Continuous).


O Past Continuous pode ser usado com o Simple Past. Observe:

I saw Jim in the park. He was sitting on the grass and reading a book.
While I was working in the garden, I hurt my back.
