MAIS INGLÊS - There + To Be

Hello!

Nessa aula irei falar um pouco sobre o There + To Be, que equivale ao verbo Haver ou Existir, em português. Como disse minha professora, o There (lá) casou-se com o To Be (ser, estar), formando o "Existir". Percebam que tem uma certa coerência na mistura de "lá" e "estar". Seria como se disséssemos "Lá está!", mas o certo é Existir.


Forma Afirmativa:

Para coisas no singular, usamos "There + is":
There is (There's) a book on the table.
Existe (há) um livro sobre a mesa.

Para coisas no plural, usamos "There are":
There are* things on the table.
Existem coisas sobre a mesa.


Forma Negativa:

Mesma coisa, mas a diferença é que será acrescentado o "not":
There isn't a book on the table.
Não há um livro sobre a mesa.

There aren't things on the table.
Não há coisas sobre a mesa.


Forma Interrogativa:

Mesma coisa, mas inverte a ordem:
Is there a book on the table?
Há um livro sobre a mesa?

Are there things on the table?
Há coisas sobre a mesa?


* "There are" não tem contração na forma afirmativa.
